About Kathleen Pacheco

I started drawing when I was old enough to hold a pencil. It's as simple and wonderful as that.
Encouraged by my parents, especially my artistically talented father, I attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in pursuit of a Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree.
Like many other artists after college, creating art took a back seat to the challenges of every day responsibilities. Most recently, the past 14 years of being a primary caretaker.
On the rare occasions of spare time, I produced commissioned portrait paintings and entered the world of photography. While photography continued and continues to be a passion, I developed a curiosity to study forensic art. I started creating drawings of unidentified people based on post-mortem skull photos, and autopsy photos provided by Medical Examiner's offices across the United States. Some of those drawings are now used by those same Medical Examiner's offices as their Case Identification images.
A simple purchase of an adult coloring book would open a world of coloring and making art for the sake of pure enjoyment. It was in entering this coloring world that a desire to draw and create was reborn. Whether using my imagination or my own photographs to make art, I was reinvigorated. No judgement, no expectations, no boundaries. I'm currently producing new drawings, illustrations and paintings and will post them to this website, as well as, my Instagram page.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this website of my art work. It is a pleasure to share it with you.
